Donate Smiles II fundraising event was initiated by my friends Nisha and Unnikrishnan.  "We decided to avoid gifts for Ratna's B'day party and instead our friends can donate to FAHC. What information about FAHC we can send in our invitation?," Nisha emailed this to me on May 15, 2008.  A few more emails, Nisha and Unni organized a birthday party for their daughter Ratna on June 7, 2008.

A unique birthday invitation:

"Join us celebrate Ratna's 3rd birthday with your family. Please RSVP by Saturday May 31, 2008.

This time we have decided to help the under-privileged kids as a part of this birthday. One of our close friends has started a non profit organization in India named "Feed a Hungry Child". This organization helps providing support to poor kids and their families with food, education and health care. You can read more about the organization at http://feedahungrychild.org.  

If you wish, you may chip in for this great cause instead of birthday gifts. You can either give us the money/checks (payable to Nisha Pazhanan) or contribute directly through their website using "Paypal" or "Chipin". See you all on Jun 7th.  Nidhi, Nisha & Unni."
