Children — with their boldness, creativity and boundless energy — have huge potential to inspire hope and transformation in their communities and around the world. They are leaders in training. If we do our jobs diligently as caretakers, they will grow into strong, healthy and discerning individuals who advocate for the vulnerable and care about what matters most — family, life and faith.
We work with 17 local evangelical churches in 7 provinces across the Philippines. Each local church conducts a weekly feeding program for children in their respective communities. These children and their families are invited to be a part of a loving community where they develop healthy friendships with other families, find support in times of need, and learn God's Word and its application to the realities of daily living.
Founder, Child & Church Partners (DBA) Feed A Hungry Child
I grew up poor in a (then) remote town of Sapang Palay, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, Philippines. My parents, who did not even finish elementary school, were responsible and hardworking, but with four children to raise, it became nearly impossible for them to send all their kids to school. But hope came when a loving couple from America decided to help a poor little girl from a poor little town achieve her dreams.
I have never met my sponsors.
I don't even know their names. They were total strangers who generously, and perhaps sacrificially, gave so I could break the cycle of poverty that had kept generations in my family line in bondage.
I don't remember if I even wrote them a single thank-you letter.
It probably didn't matter that much to them. All they wanted was to change the life trajectory of one child. And they did!
I couldn't turn back the time to let them know how grateful I am for their love, but I can do something to honor their generosity and celebrate their legacy. Through Child & Church Partners (DBA: Feed a Hungry Child), and the support of friends like you, my sponsor's heart for the poor will live on and continue to touch lives. The seed that they planted will bear much fruit in the lives of many more ambitious but poor young girls and boys. With all I've got, thank you very much.
Be the one to inspire and equip a child in poverty to overcome barriers and be a force for good in the world.
